GetPaid.Social Review – Is Getpaid.Social a Scam?
GetPaid.Social is relatively new as they just launched in November 2015. Because of it’s free to earn opportunities, they’ve grown extremely fast since then with well over 100,000 members so far. But the big question is, is GetPaid.Social a scam? Let’s find out.
What is GetPaid.Social?
GetPaid.Social is a free online program that pays you for super simple tasks to complete. The range of money you’ll earn per task varies but for example you can earn $0.03 just for “Liking” a particular Facebook page. That’s something you do in your everyday life anyway so why not get paid for it?
Some other task examples are:
- Share a Facebook post
- Like a Facebook fan page
- Visit a webpage
- Feedback on a website or video
- Join an email list
- Answer some short questions
My personal opinion about this is that although visiting a page or giving feedback are valid tasks that give value, “Liking” a page because you’ll get paid is kind of like false advertisement. People are paying you to make it look like their site is popular and successful no matter what they are promoting and may give misinformation to others who see all the likes on the page.
I know there’s a lot of sites out there that do this sort of stuff but I’m not particularly a fan of it.
Are There Any Requirements?
This is absolutely free to join. Most of the tasks have something to do with social media, in particular Facebook so having a Facebook account is pretty important. They are working on other social media outlets as well like Google+, Twitter, and Snapchat. Other than that there’s no credit card or other requirements.
You will have to go through a setup process in order to connect and give authorization to your social media account before you can earn credit for most tasks.
How Much Will I Earn?
You definitely won’t earn much doing the tasks for a few cents which might add up to a couple of dollars a day but keep in mind that as a free member they do limit the number of tasks you can do a day.
They have a Premium membership that gives you unlimited access to all the tasks. Some tasks are restricted to only premium members and usually have a higher payout. The surveys in particular usually have a multi-dollar value. You do get an offer to try premium free for the first 7 days when you first join but then after that you will be charged a one time $19.97 charge and then $9.97 per month thereafter.
They do have a referral system where you get paid $3 for every premium upgrade you refer. Also if someone you referred makes a sale, you receive a $2 bonus. These are recurring monthly commissions. This can add up if you have a bunch of people you referred who go premium.
So is GetPaid.Social a Scam?
I wouldn’t call it a scam because they do in fact pay, but is it worth it?
My opinion is NO. When you join as a free member you are restricted to the amount of tasks you are able to do per day. Considering that the tasks are only a few cents each, you won’t be able to get more than a couple of cents to a dollar a day at most unless upgrading to premium. I’m not sure how many people will be willing to pay money to get access to more tasks but my guess is not many.
Tasks aren’t necessarily guaranteed either. What I mean about that is you might not even have enough tasks to reach your daily limit. Sometimes there are only 5 tasks available that will give you a few cents each. I don’t think it’s worth my time earning a few cents doing mediocre tasks especially since their minimum withdrawal is $30. It would take a long time to reach that number if I’m only making a few cents a day.
Like I mentioned before, I don’t really like the fact that they are generating “fake likes” on Facebook as it really misleads the public. It also goes against Facebook policy:
“We have a strong incentive to aggressively go after the bad actors behind fake likes because businesses and people who use our platform want real connections and results. Businesses won’t achieve results and could end up doing less business on Facebook if the people they’re connected to aren’t real. It’s in our best interest to make sure that interactions are authentic, so we staff a number of teams to detect fraudulent activity and shut it down.
We work hard to ensure that the connections between businesses and people are genuine and meaningful and want to share the resources we have to help you understand where fake likes come from, the defenses we have in place and tips on how to safeguard yourself from fraudulent activity.”
Because of this, I don’t think this program will be successful if they continue to go down that path. I have no problems with the other tasks regarding giving feedback to websites, logos, or asking questions however those seem pretty rare compared to “Liking” pages.
