Leapforce Jobs – Is Leapforce a SCAM?

Leapforce - Work From Home Opportunity

If you’re looking for reviews on Leapforce and wondering whether Leapforce is a scam, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s start of by discussing who they are and what they do.

What is Leapforce?

Leapforce is a company that hires people to work from home and become search engine evaluators for companies like Google or Yahoo. They are BBB Accredited with an A+ rating and have been in business since 2008. You get to work when you want and you get to work at home.

What Will I be Doing?

You will be hired as an independent contractor as a search engine evaluator and will be responsible for your own taxes. What is a search engine evaluator you ask? Well basically your job will be to review search results and rate them based on requirements provided by Leapforce.

Why do they want you to do this? Because there are a lot of sites these days that aren’t even relevant to the terms you searched. This makes search engines less useful because you’ll be getting results that aren’t even related to what you’re looking for. In short, if the search engine you use isn’t reliable or beneficial for you to use, you’ll probably try another better one that actually gives you relevant results.

By having evaluators sort out the bad results, the quality of results go up and more people are likely to continue using that search engine. So search engines are willing to pay people to keep the quality of the results top notch.

OK, Are There Any Requirements?

Leapforce - Work at Home

Yup, just a few basic ones. First of all you have to be 18 years of age or older.

Equipment Requirements

  • High speed internet access (Cable Modem, DSL, etc.)
  • A personal computer running Google’s free Chrome web browser, version 31 or higher
  • Up to date anti-virus and anti-spyware software (there’s a lot of free ones online)

Basic Skill Requirements

  • Excellent web research skills and analytical abilities
  • Excellent comprehension and written communication skills

Also you are required to work at your place of residence. You won’t be able to work any other place due to the access of sensitive information.

How Much Will I Earn?

Make Money Online

This is probably what you’ve been wondering most. How much money can you make working here. They pay around $13/hour but that’s just an estimate because you are actually being paid by task. One thing to note is that they do have time evaluations so if they think it should take you an hour but it takes you longer, you’ll only get paid the amount they set.

Another thing to consider is that work may not be consistent. Depending on where you live and the amount of agents, you might only get 20 hours a week instead of a full 40 hours that you thought you might get. But the pay is pretty decent so if it’s just a side gig for some extra money, this might work well for you.

Great, How Do I Join?

Their current openings are based on country so check out this page to see if they are looking for agents in your country. It is completely free to join but just like any job, they need to make sure you are qualified so there is a three-part exam that you need to pass in order to be hired.

What Will the Exam Test Me On?

Part 1 – Theory

This part of the exam will assess how well you understand the theoretical part of rating concepts and your ability to interpret questions and search for information. Don’t worry, you will get resources to study plus this is open book so you can use your resources to find the answers.

Part 2 – Page Quality

You’ll be asked to assess 7 web pages for quality. You’ll be going through training material before you even take the exam so don’t panic if you don’t know how to rate web pages. You’ll learn all about it and just have to remember what they are looking for.

Part 3 – Send to Device

In this section there are 7 tasks. Each task will give you a query and a list of search results with links that you have to rate from a scale of “Fails to Meet” to “Fully Meets”. You are required to view this on a mobile device but if you don’t have one, you can use any android emulator instead.

This is quite a detailed and difficult exam but once you pass they’ll send you a confirmation and you’ll be given access to the available tasks and you can start earning money.

So Is Leapforce a scam?

It definitely is NOT a scam but can be hard to get into. However, they do allow you to re-take the exam a second time if you fail. They provide you with training material but it comes with a high learning curve and might take you awhile to digest and know enough to pass the test.

The pay is decent but it’s not guaranteed that you will get steady work all the time. You will be on a six month contract which may or may not be renewed depending on your productivity. If you like analyzing results and web pages then this might be for you but at the end of the day you are still working for someone else.

In my opinion I would rather be my own boss and have the freedom to work anywhere I want whether it’s at home, at the park, or during vacation. If you want that life and be in control of your own online business, check out my #1 Recommendation. This is a true work-from-home opportunity that will give you freedom and online income.

  • Great article! Regarding using an android emulator instead of an android phone for part 3 of the exam…. does leapforce not mind if you are using an emulator? And will they not check the emulator IP (for example i live in the UK but most emulators default to USA IP).

    • Actually in one of the pages they do say that you are allowed to use emulators so it should be no problem. Good luck!
